Official visits of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus M. Myasnikovich to the Republic of Kazakhstan (8-11 November, 2012) and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Ahmetov to the Republic of Belarus (25-26 April, 2013) were carried out at the intergovernmental level.
On May 28, 2015, it was a meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Massimov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus A. Kobyakov as a part of the session of the CIS Council of the Heads of the Governments (in the village of Burabai).
The Kazakh-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation (IC) is an important element of bilateral cooperation and operates since 1996. The 11th session of the IC was in Taldykorgan on September 17-18, 2014.
The next session of the IC is planned to be held in the Republic of Belarus in 2016.
Consultations are held on the sidelines of IPA, CIS, CSTO and other parliamentary structures.
Interregional cooperation has been intensified. In 2014-2015, there were visits of delegations from Akmolinsk, Almaty, Atyrau, Zhambyl, South-Kazakhstan and North-Kazakhstan regions to the Republic of Belarus, and delegations of Minsk and Grodno regions to Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan is among the top three trade partners of Belarus within the CIS.
The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Belarus was $ 492.2 million in January-November 2015.
Cultural and humanitarian, scientific and technical intercommunications have been steadily developing. There is an exchange of experience and specialists in the sphere of science, education, healthcare, culture and etc. Kazakhstan’s medical workers regularly upgrade qualifications on the base of leading medical institutions of Belarus, conduct joint operations. Researchers of Kazakhstan and Belarus actively participate in events, carried out in both countries. Currently, 250 Kazakh students are studying in universities and the Military Academy of Belarus.
