Entry regime for foreigners wishing to visit the Republic of Kazakhstan

For citizens of Ukraine

There is an The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers the Ukraine on terms of mutual trips of citizens dated May 19, 2000 (the full text of the Agreement: http://adilet.zan.kz/rus/docs/Z010000159_).

According to Article 1 of this Agreement citizens of the State of one Party may on the basis of documents valid for traveling abroad enter, transit, leave and stay in the territory of the other Party without visas for up to ninety (90) days during one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the first crossing the state border of the state of entry.

Also citizens of the State of one Party shall be released from registration on the mutual basis in the competent authorities at the place of their stay in the territory of the state of the other Party if the period of such stay does not exceed ninety (90) days during one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the first entry into the territory of the state of this other Party if they have a migration card with the mark of border control authorities on the entry into the territory of the State of that other Party.

According to Article 2 of the Agreement documents valid for traveling abroad for Ukrainian citizens are the following:

- passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad;

- travel document of the child;

- diplomatic passport;

- service passport;

- seafarer identity card (if there is a crew list or an extract from it);

- aircrewman card (if there is the flight assignment);

- certificate of return to Ukraine (only for return to Ukraine).


For citizens of other countries

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 26, 2015 № 483 citizens of the United Kingdom, United States of America, Germany, France, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, Monaco, Singapore, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Japan are exempt from visa requirements for visits up to 15 calendar days from the moment of crossing the state border between July 16, 2015 to December 31, 2017.

In accordance with the Government resolution of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 23 December 2016 № 838, “On amending the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 21 January 2012 № 148", “On adoption of Rules of entry and stay of immigrants in the Republic of Kazakhstan and their departure from the Republic of Kazakhstan and Rules of implementation of migratory control, and also registration of foreigners and stateless persons illegally crossing the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, illegally staying in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as individuals banned from entry to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

Citizens of following countries may enter and exit Kazakhstan without issuing visas if the period of stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exceed 30 calendar days from the moment of crossing the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

We also inform that the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan exercise the issuance of "business" category single entry visas of for a period of up to thirty calendar days based upon the application for extension of a stay in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan exceeding thirty calendar days for business purposes.
