On October 25, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Romania Daulet Batrashev met with the Secretary of State of the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture Alexandru Potor, during which was discussed development of Kazakhstan-Romanian bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial sector.
The Kazakh diplomat introduced interlocutor with State of the Nation Address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev “Growing welfare of Kazakh citizens: increase in income and quality of life" and the medium-term priorities of the agro-industrial complex development in Kazakhstan. The Ambassador paid special attention to the tasks set by the Head of State to realize the potential of agricultural sector in Kazakhstan and modernize the social environment in the rural areas of the country.
D.Batrashev emphasized interest of Kazakh side in studying Romanian experience and practice of farming, attracting reputable specialists and modern agricultural technologies, as well as noted about wide opportunities of doing business in Kazakhstan for Romanian agro-industrial companies.
In turn, A.Potor stressed the openness and readiness of Romanian side to intensify cooperation, including the exchange of experience and academic personnel, as well as the establishment of ties between the sectoral institutions of the two countries.
Further, in the Embassy held talks with President of the League of Agricultural Producers Associations of Romania (LAPAR) Laurentiu Baciu, during which they discussed prospects for developing cooperation with Kazakh agricultural associations and investing in priority projects in the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan.
L.Baciu highly appreciated the measures taken to increase the export-oriented agrarian production and noted that this is one of the important steps to increase the people's welfare.
The meetings made it possible to plan further ways on intensifying bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture in the view of implementation of the tasks, declared by the President N.Nazarbayev in the State of the Nation Address.
