Political cooperation

Kazakhstan and Ireland maintain a regular dialogue within a number of international organisations, including the OSCE and the United Nations.

On May 27, 2015 the Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan B.Aitimova paid a working visit to Ireland. During the visit, Kazakh senator held a meeting with the Chairman of Irish Senate Mr Paddy Burke.

On June 24-25, 2015 Ambassador Erzhan Kazykhanov visited Dublin to present his credentials to the President of Ireland H.E. Michael D. Higgins. During the visit Ambassador Erzhan Kazykhanov held meetings with the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Mr Simon Coveney TD, Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr Niall Burgess, Political Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr Barrie Robinson and the Chairman of Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Irish Parliament Mr Pat Breen TD as well as the representatives of Irish business community.

The representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan regularly take part in the National Day of Commemoration that commemorates all Irish people who died in past wars or peacekeeping missions.

Tradeandeconomiccooperation

The volume of trade turnover amounted to 1813 36, 9 mln. US dollars in 2015. The main items of Kazakhstan export are mineral fuels, oil and products of its distillation. Import from Ireland traditional includes chemical products, pharmaceuticals and computer parts.
