Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary met with the Prime Minister of Serbia

On October 20, 2017, Kazakh Ambassador in Hungary Nurbakh Rustemov had a meeting with Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic in Belgrade.

During the talks the sides discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of high-level visits in 2015-2017.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to expand trade and economic cooperation, finding new opportunities for developing of business relations between entrepreneurs of the two countries. As Ambassador Rustemov noted, a favorable political background of relations between Kazakhstan and Serbia should positively influence the cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. At the same time, there are good prospects for further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, construction of infrastructure projects, military-industrial sphere, food industry and tourism.

The Ambassador expressed confidence that the upcoming first official visit of the Speaker of the National Parliament of Serbia Maja Gojkovic to Kazakhstan on November 7-8 will become continuation of high-level contacts between the two countries, and will also contribute to the substantive filling of the inter-parliamentary dialogue between Kazakhstan and Serbia.

Ana Brnabic expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation in recent years. She noted that Kazakhstan is one of the important partners of Serbia, with which Belgrade intends to actively deepen cooperation on overall spectrum of bilateral issues. The Serbian prime minister urged Kazakhstan's business to actively enter the local market through the privatization of economic facilities, including the opening of joint companies. According to Ana Brnabic, in the context of Serbia's forthcoming accession to the European Union, this will enable Kazakhstan's businessmen to subsequently sell their products on the common European market.
