Ambassador of Kazakhstan meets with the Prime Minister of Macedonia

On Thursday, October 12, 2017 in Skopje, Nurbah Rustemov, concurrently the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Macedonia held a meeting with Prime Minister of Macedonia Zoran Zaev, during which, were discussed the state and the prospects of the development of the Kazakh-Macedonian relations.

In particular, the parties expressed mutual interest in the intensification of bilateral relations, increasing the trade volume between two countries and expanding the legal framework by signing new agreements.

During the meeting, it was noted that there is a necessity for a bilateral intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which should give impetus to the development of trade and business linkages between the two countries.

Zoran Zaev expressed an interest in participating in the Astana Economic Forum in 2018.

The Macedonian Prime Minister confirmed the readiness for cooperation in legal sphere. In particular, the head of government stressed that the Macedonian side will continue the practice of visa-free regime for Kazakh citizens entering Macedonia for a period of up to three months with a frequency of once in every six months.

The Kazakh Ambassador informed his interlocutor about the foreign policy priorities and international initiatives of Kazakhstan, the development programs of our republic, investment preferences for foreign investors, the outcomes of the international exhibition Expo2017 in Astana, and the establishment of the Astana International Financial Center .

In addition, the Ambassador met with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia.

At the meetings, the Macedonian side expressed interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan across the spectrum of bilateral relations.
