Ambassador of Kazakstan met with leader of "New Democracy"

On February 6, 2018 Kazakh Ambassador to Greece Alexei Volkov met with the leader of the political party "New Democracy" Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

During the conversation, the Kazakh diplomat told the famous Greek politician about the political and socio-economic achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of independence.

He outlined directions of the country's development in the light of the President's Address "New opportunities of development in the context of the fourth industrial revolution."

In this regard, Ambassador Volkov stressed the need to develop political, parliamentary and business contacts, given the significant prospects for investment and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Additional stimulus to the growth of mutual contacts, according to Ambassador Alexei Volkov, should be large Greek diaspora that lives in Kazakhstan.

President of the New Democracy K. Mizotakis thanked for the information provided and expressed high interest in developing contacts with Kazakhstan, pointing out the growing geopolitical and economic role of the country in the world. He wished Kazakhstan success in implementing ambitious development goals and negotiations on the country's accession to the OECD.

Similar consultations with the leadership of several other leading Greek political parties are scheduled for the near future.

For reference : "New Democracy" is the largest opposition political party of Greece. It was founded in 1974 and in January 2016 Mr. K.Mitsotakis was elected as a party leader.
