On November 12, 2017 an Honorary consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the federal state of Tyrol (Austria) was opened in Innsbruck, which was attended by the representatives of local government, business and cultural circles, consular corps and mass media.
On the eve of the event a popular newspaper «Tiroler Tageszeitung» has published an article called «Stützpunkt für Kasachstan in Tirol» (A base station for Kazakhstan in Tyrol), which highlighted that due to policies of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev Kazakhstan intends to enter the list of 30 most developed countries in the world. The country has all the potential to achieve this goal, possessing such 3 important elements as highly educated youth, substantial economic potential and strong political will. The article has also mentioned the Austrian experience in the field of renewable energy, biomass and digital technology, and drew attention to the significance of developing relations with Tyrol in the field of tourism and sports. In this regard the Honorary consulate in Innsbruck is set to play a big role.
During the opening ceremony of the Honorary consulate the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr.Kairat Sarybay highlighted the traditional hospitality of Tyrol, the high level of technological advancement of services in the field of tourism and special features of modern green technologies in Austria, while familiarizing the attendees with the work conducted in Kazakhstan on implementation of the Third Modernization of Kazakhstan and the modernization of public conscience program.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan has also turned the audience's attention to the fact that both countries are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and told about the accomplishments of the bilateral cooperation. Pointing out that within the framework of EXPO-2017 the technologies of the three Austrian companies were presented in the pavilion of cutting edge practices,
Mr. K.Sarybay has expressed the gratitude to the Austrian side for active participation in the work of the global exhibition, including the successfully conducted meetings of intergovernmental economic commission and Kazakhstan-Austrian business council, as well as the organization of visits to Kazakhstan of delegations from the federal states of Carinthia, Tyrol, Styria, Vorarlbergand Salzburg. The sizeable contribution of the Honorary consulates of Kazakhstan has received a special appraisal. In this regard while wishing success to Mr.G.Burtscher, the new Honorary consul, the Ambassador has presented him with a consular patent and a state flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
While welcoming the opening of the Kazakhstan representative office in the federal state the President of Tyrolean ParliamentMr.G.VanStaa has expressed his admiration towards the achievements of Kazakhstan in terms of economy and conducting of political reforms, which were implemented thanks to pragmatic and constructive policy of the President N.Nazarbayev. In this regard he has highlighted that the establishment of an Honorary consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Innsbruck is a great honor for the Tyrol and expressed his confidence that bilateral relations are going to develop further.
The CEO of „Bank für Tirol und Vorarlberg“ – Honorary consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr.G.Burtscher has expressed his gratitude for the high trust vested in him to represent the interests of Kazakhstan and assured that he will make every effort to develop the friendly bilateral relations.
The head of «SOS Kinderdorf» (a well-known non-government organization which provides aid to orphans with headquarters in Innsbruck) Mr. K.Moser, the owner of «Grassmayr»(the company which has casted the main bell for the catholic church in Karaganda/Kazakhstan)Mr. K.Grassmayr, as well as the head of «Tiroler Rohre GmbH» (the company's high-tech products were used to build the EXPO complex in Astana) Mr. M.Kloger has shared their impressions and praised the success of Kazakhstan.A short film about the achievements, potential and opportunities in Kazakhstan was shown to the participants of the event. A concert of Kazakhstan musicians Zhaniya Tulenova, Tatyana Mayer and Yeldar Saparayev currently studying and working in Europe was conducted during the event within the framework of “Pearls of Kazakhstan – the melody of the Great Steppe" project implemented by the Embassy of the Kazakhstan to Austria. The guests were entertained by the compositions of world classical music and famous Kazakhcomposers. The opening ceremony was finalized by a reception during which the guests had an opportunity to taste traditional Kazakh cuisine.
