On October 31, 2018, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lithuania Viktor Temirbayev discussed key points of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the representatives of the Seimas, academic and business circles of Lithuania.
During the event Ambassador Temirbayev informed the participants about country's socio-economic development and the tasks for further improving of the welfare of Kazakh people, providing details on the plans of raising the quality of education and healthcare in Kazakhstan.
The Ambassador underlined broad perspectives for the joint projects on creating an export-oriented economy, in particular in the field of agriculture, taking into account the great expereince of Lithuanian farmers.
In their turn, the participants of the round table praised the relevance and scale of measures taken by the Government of Kazakhstan including support of the small and medium enterprise sector in Kazakhstan.
Lithuanian medical, educational and agricultural clusters emphasized its interest to participate in the implementation of the tasks mentioned in the Address.
In particular, the universities of Kaunas are already undergoing through joint projects with Kazakh institutions to improve the qualifications of Kazakh teachers. Discussions to create double diploma studies are being held with partner universities. Lithuanian universities are as well interested in preparing special courses for Kazakh specialists in the field of agriculture.
University of Vilnius together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan gradually implements the project “Modernization of medical education and science through the strategic partnership of Kazakhstan medical universities with leading medical schools of world universities".
