Kazakhstan presented a report on investment climate to the OECD

Kazakhstani delegation led by Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Khairov participated in the extended meeting of the OECD Investment Committee.

In June 2017, Kazakhstan received a status of an “associate member” in the OECD Investment Committee and joined the Declaration on International Investments and Multinational Enterprises. Membership in the Committee allows Kazakhstan to consistently adopt standards and practices of the OECD countries to improve the country's investment climate.

Within the framework of the extended meeting, separate meetings with the Chairman of the OECD Investment Committee M. Schekulin, Head of the Eurasia Division in the OECD W. Tompson, the OECD advisory committees on trade unions, business and industry were held, where they discussed the issues of Kazakhstan's membership in the Investment Committee and further steps to maintain this status.

Following the results of the report, the Organization noted progress of Kazakhstan in combating corruption, ensuring the rights of workers, and national treatment of FDI. However, the OECD recommended to continue further work to improve the country's investment climate, using best practices and platforms.
