Legal basis

The following interstate and intergovernmental international treaties are in force between Kazakhstan and Greece: Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on economic and technological cooperation; Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on international road transport of passengers and goods; Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on cooperation in the field of education and culture; Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports.

As of the beginning of 2017, 14 new drafts of bilateral documents (agreements and MoUs) are under consideration of Kazakh and Greek sides. The parties are working on their prompt agreement and signing.

In this vein, on May 24, 2017 in Astana a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Greece (interagency).
